Iran’s Transport Minister Urges Quick Resumption of Flights Post-Conflict
WANA (Apr 13) – Farzaneh Sadegh, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, accompanied by Abouzar Shiroudi, Head of the Civil Aviation Organization, visited the Iran Airports Company to personally review efforts to maintain the aviation industry’s stability during the recent war.
During the visit, Minister Sadegh praised the dedication of aviation specialists, describing the round-the-clock presence of managers and deputies on the front lines as a source of reassurance for both staff and the public. “This jihadist spirit and cross-sector cooperation within the Ministry doubles the speed and quality of our operations,” she stated.
Prioritizing the Return of Flight Schedules
Emphasizing the urgent need to restore air travel, Sadegh noted that domestic flights at airports where conditions allow must resume as quickly as possible. She expressed her sincere gratitude for the sacrifices made by aviation personnel who remained committed to their duties under extremely difficult circumstances.
Strategic Reconstruction of Infrastructure
Mohammad Amirani, Deputy Minister and CEO of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company, acknowledged the damage inflicted on critical infrastructure during the conflict. He announced a firm commitment to a “smart reconstruction” of these assets.
“While it is distressing to see damage to infrastructure built over years of enduring sanctions, we will rely on domestic expertise to rebuild these sections better and more resiliently than before,” Amirani said.
He added that following the announcement of a temporary ceasefire, a detailed technical assessment began immediately. “Flights will be restored based on public demand and under the safest possible conditions. The resilient people of Iran can rest assured that airport capacities will soon return to full operational cycles.”
