Iran’s Women’s Boxing Wins Its First-Ever Medal in History
WANA (Oct 28) – In the ongoing Asian Youth Games boxing competitions in Bahrain, Iranian boxer Fatemeh Rastegarpour won a bronze medal in the women’s division on Tuesday.
Rastegarpour competed in the over 80 kg semifinal bout, where she faced Elnura Kangirt from Kazakhstan. Despite her efforts, the Iranian athlete secured the bronze medal.
This achievement marks a historic milestone for Iranian women’s boxing, as it is the first time Iran’s female boxers have participated in an international event.
The Iranian women’s boxing team, consisting of three athletes, represented the country at the Manama Games.
