WANA (Mar 05) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani emphasized on Wednesday that Iraq will never allow any threat to Iran to arise from its borders.

In a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, al-Sudani extended condolences to the Iranian government and people for the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader in the wake of the U.S. and Israeli military assault on Iran.

Al-Sudani condemned the recent military aggression against Iran, calling it a violation of international and moral principles. He reiterated Iraq’s firm stance, stressing that his government would not permit any security threat to Iran from Iraqi territory.

Araghchi thanked the Iraqi government and people, as well as religious authorities, for their strong condemnation of the U.S. and Israeli military aggression against Iran, which led to the “martyrdom” of Iran’s Supreme Leader and other innocent citizens. He assured that Iranians remain determined to defend the dignity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of their country.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also blamed the instability in the region on the warmongering actions and crimes of the U.S. and Israel. He highlighted the need for vigilance from all regional and Islamic countries to thwart the sinister schemes of the U.S. and Israel, who aim to destabilize the region and sow division among Islamic nations.
