WANA (Apr 21) – The Islamic Resistance in Iraq issued a statement late Monday warning against any new military action targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that it would expand the scope of its operations if such actions are repeated.

According to international reports, the Iraqi resistance group “Saraya Awliya al-Dam” outlined its position in a four-point statement addressing recent developments and the possible end of a ceasefire in July between Iran and opposing parties. In the statement, the group’s spokesperson, Abu Mahdi al-Jaafari, emphasized the full readiness of resistance forces to escalate their military activities.

Referring to the approaching end of the ceasefire, he said the group is prepared to resume its military operations—previously exceeding 200 incidents—with greater scale and intensity. He noted that these operations would target the presence of foreign forces in Iraq and the wider region.

The statement also highlighted preparedness for a prolonged conflict, indicating that more advanced weapons—being used for the first time—would be deployed in future operations.

Saraya Awliya al-Dam further called on its supporters to continue backing resistance forces and providing assistance to people in Iran and Lebanon in line with religious guidance, stressing unity among resistance groups across the region.

In its concluding remarks, the group stated that in the event of renewed actions against Iran, it would respond accordingly and continue along its declared path.
