Iraq’s National Security Advisor Meets Larijani
WANA (Oct 20) – Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qassem al-Araji, met on Monday afternoon with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The meeting focused on bilateral and regional security cooperation as part of ongoing consultations between Tehran and Baghdad.
Earlier in the day, al-Araji arrived in Tehran at the head of a political and security delegation, where he was received by Mousa Alizadeh Tabatabaei, Director General for Persian Gulf Affairs at Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
The Iraqi official’s visit comes at the invitation of Ali Larijani. During his stay, al-Araji is scheduled to hold talks with several other senior Iranian political officials.
