IRGC Announces 98th Wave of “Operation True Promise 4”
WANA (Apr 06) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the launch of the 98th wave of its ongoing “Operation True Promise 4,” stating that combined naval and aerospace forces carried out coordinated strikes against U.S. and Israeli military and strategic targets.
According to the statement, the operation began earlier in the day and was dedicated to the memory of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence chief, Maj. Gen. Majid Khademi.
In the first phase, IRGC naval forces reportedly targeted a container vessel identified as “SDN7,” described as linked to Israel, using a cruise missile. The vessel was said to have caught fire following the strike.
The statement further claimed that multiple locations in and around Tel Aviv, as well as strategic sites in Haifa, chemical facilities in Beersheba, and military positions in Petah Tikva, were hit by Iranian ballistic missiles. It asserted that the missiles penetrated advanced air defense systems.
The IRGC also claimed that a U.S. Navy amphibious assault ship, identified as USS Tripoli (LHA-7), came under attack and was forced to withdraw toward the southern Indian Ocean following the strikes.
In another part of the operation, the statement said a joint drone production facility allegedly linked to the United Arab Emirates and Israel, along with aircraft stationed at Ali Al Salem Air Base, were targeted with missiles and drones.
The IRGC added that offensive operations by Iranian armed forces and allied groups in the region are ongoing, and further details would be released.
It also stated that movements in the Strait of Hormuz and the waters of the Persian Gulf are under close surveillance, warning that any hostile activity would be met with a decisive response.
