WANA (Jun 11) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its Aerospace Force and Naval Force carried out a large-scale operation early on Thursday in response to recent U.S. attacks on service facilities, coastal outposts of the IRGC, law enforcement positions, and the vicinity of Bandar Abbas Airport.

 

According to a statement issued by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office, 18 significant targets associated with the U.S. military were struck and destroyed in two separate waves of operations. The targets were located at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base, and Sheikh Isa Air Base.

 

The IRGC described the operation as a response to what it called U.S. aggression against Iranian territory and military positions.

 

In a separate statement, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said that the halt in U.S. attacks on areas in southern Iran, as announced by the U.S. president, was the result of the “powerful and decisive response” delivered by Iran’s armed forces.

 

The headquarters added that the operation had inflicted “another defeat” on the U.S. military and stressed that Iran’s armed forces would continue responding to any acts of aggression or hostile actions by the United States.
