WANA (Jul 14) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in its ninth official statement that it had targeted a U.S. military air base in Jordan as part of the ongoing “Nasr 2” operation. Addressing the people of Jordan, the IRGC stressed that the operation was directed exclusively against U.S. forces and that Iran holds no hostility toward the Jordanian people.

 

According to the statement released by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office, in the early hours of today, Iranian forces carried out the third phase of the second wave of Operation Nasr 2, codenamed Ya Litharat al-Hussein (AS). The statement said that key facilities and positions used by U.S. forces at an air base in Jordan were struck with ballistic missiles. The IRGC stated that the base had been used to launch attacks against Iran and that U.S. personnel stationed there were targeted during the operation.

 

The statement also said that on the first day of the recent U.S. attacks, the same air base was used in an operation that resulted in the deaths of 186 schoolchildren and their teachers in Minab. According to the IRGC, this was one of the reasons behind the missile strike on the U.S. base in Jordan.

 

In another part of the statement, the IRGC addressed the people of Jordan as a “noble and Muslim nation,” emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran not only has no enmity toward the Jordanian people but also considers them friends because of their support for the Palestinian cause and their solidarity with the people of Gaza.

 

The statement further said that the people of Jordan, more than many other nations, understand the suffering of the Palestinian people and are aware of what it described as Israeli crimes in Gaza, carried out with direct U.S. support. It also referred to the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians, including thousands of children, during the war in Gaza.

 

In its concluding remarks, the IRGC called for the removal of U.S. military bases from the region, saying such a move would contribute to supporting the Palestinian people and restoring security and stability across the region. The statement ended by expressing hope for “Jordan’s dignity and prosperity.”
