WANA (Jul 16) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had carried out a combined missile and drone attack targeting the C-RAM early warning radar system at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, as well as a gathering point for U.S. military personnel at the Port of Umm Qasr, according to Statement No. 15 on the eighth wave of Operation Nasr 2.

 

According to the statement issued by the IRGC Public Relations Office, the operation was launched in response to what it described as “the enemy’s attacks on coastal areas and southern cities of Iran” the previous night. The operation was conducted jointly by the IRGC Navy and Aerospace Force under the code name “Ya Zaynab al-Kubra (PBUH).”

 

The statement said the operation employed both missiles and drones to target the C-RAM early warning radar stationed at Ali Al Salem Air Base, along with a location where U.S. troops were reportedly assembled at the Port of Umm Qasr in Kuwait.

 

The IRGC also addressed the people of Kuwait in its statement, claiming that the United States was using Kuwaiti territory to carry out operations against Iran. It called on the Kuwaiti people to “rid their country of foreign aggressors” and preserve their “historical honor and dignity.”
