WANA (Jul 21) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Public Relations department has issued Statement No. 35, addressing the Iranian public following what it described as a major military operation against U.S. forces in the region.

Addressing the nation, the statement lauded the Iranian public’s 140 days and nights of resilience, crediting their presence and spirit with inspiring military forces to achieve ongoing tactical successes.

According to the IRGC, a retaliatory military action was recently launched against U.S. forces in response to alleged U.S. disruptions to security in the Strait of Hormuz and strikes against targets within Iranian territory.

The announcement detailed that the IRGC Aerospace Force targeted key air defense infrastructure in the region during the 24th wave of “Operation Nasr-2,” conducted under the code word “Ya Ruqayyah (SA)”. The primary stated goal of the operation was to dismantle defensive barriers in preparation for future large-scale precision strikes.

During the operation, IRGC forces completely destroyed and decommissioned a U.S. air defense unit and radar system located in Al Muharraq, Bahrain. In a coordinated attack, a U.S. Patriot air defense missile system in Al Riffa, Bahrain, was also targeted and destroyed using a combination of missiles and drones.

The IRGC concluded its statement by affirming that retaliatory strikes will continue and assured the Iranian public that further operational updates will be provided as the situation develops.
