WANA (Jul 13) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in a statement that it had carried out a series of operations targeting U.S. military facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, describing the attacks as retaliation for recent strikes.

 

According to the statement, in the first phase of the operation, IRGC forces used missiles and drones to strike several large missile storage sites and fuel depots at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan.

 

The IRGC said that in the second phase, it targeted helicopter maintenance and repair facilities, a hangar housing a P-8 electronic warfare aircraft, and the U.S. military’s drone command and control center at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

 

In the third phase, the statement claimed that fuel storage facilities and a Patriot air defense system at Ali Al Salem Air Base, as well as a strategic FPS radar system at Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, were destroyed.

 

The IRGC said its retaliatory operations would continue. The statement also stressed that the Strait of Hormuz is part of Iran’s territory and interests, adding that Tehran would not allow what it described as the U.S. military’s “illegal interference” in the strategic waterway to continue.
