IRGC Announces Wave 85 of “Operation True Promise 4” Targeting Industrial Sites
WANA (Mar 28) – The Public Relations office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement regarding the 85th wave of “Operation True Promise 4,” reporting strikes on several industrial targets and the downing of U.S. military aircraft.
The official statement, which opens with the Quranic verse, “Whoever commits aggression against you, respond with the same toward them,” is detailed below:
Summary of the Military Operation
According to the IRGC, the operation was launched in response to recent attacks on Iran’s civilian industries.
In a coordinated effort by the IRGC Navy and the Aerospace Force, a “sustained and continuous” wave of strikes—the 85th in the current series—was carried.
Weaponry Used: The IRGC reported the deployment of long-range and medium-range missile systems (utilizing both solid and liquid fuel) alongside kamikaze drones.
Targets: The statement claims that “several heavy industrial centers” belonging to the U.S. and Israel were targeted and partially destroyed within Israel and other locations.
Dedication: The operation was dedicated to the “martyrs of Iran’s industrial sector” and all national producers and manufacturers.
Reported Aerial Engagements
The IRGC further claimed that during the operation, U.S. and allied air forces attempted to target Iranian launch platforms. In the ensuing engagement:
MQ-9 Reaper: An American MQ-9 strategic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was reportedly shot down by IRGC air defenses in the airspace over Shiraz.
F-16 Fighter Jet: The statement claims a U.S. F-16 fighter jet was struck over southern Fars Province. The IRGC alleges the aircraft was destroyed before it could reach an emergency landing site in Saudi Arabia, adding that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has acknowledged “total damage” to the jet.
The statement concluded with a stern warning to U.S. leadership: “We had previously warned American officials that attacks on our industrial targets would be met with retaliation. This operation serves as a warning only. Should attacks on our industries be repeated, our next response will be beyond your imagination.”
