IRGC Commander-in-Chief: IRGC at Full Readiness
WANA (Aug 23) – The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Pakpour, declared that the force is in full readiness and warned that any renewed aggression by the Israeli regime against Iran would face a “regretful and more crushing response” than the 12-day war.
The remarks came during a meeting between the head of Iran’s Armed Forces Judiciary Organization, Hojjatoleslam Pourkhaghan, and the IRGC Commander-in-Chief.
Pourkhaghan, while honoring the memory of the late IRGC chief, Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, described his loss as a major blow for the country.
He added that the swift appointment of the new commander by the Supreme Leader, given his valuable experience in managing the IRGC Ground Forces and in the Sacred Defense, thwarted Israel’s plans to sow chaos inside Iran.
He further noted that General Salami had played an important role in crime prevention and enforcement of law in cooperation with the judiciary, expressing confidence that his successor, trained under the same school, would continue along that path.
The head of the judiciary organization stressed that the IRGC, born out of the Revolution, has for the past 47 years—together with other branches of the armed forces—defended the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation, and the oppressed in the region, while remaining a thorn in the side of the enemies of Islam and Iran.
He also commemorated the late commanders Tehrani-Moghaddam and Hajizadeh, highlighting the decisive impact of Iranian-made missiles that struck targets in the occupied territories and altered the equation of the recent 12-day confrontation.
Pourkhaghan concluded by underscoring the importance of vigilance and maintaining maximum readiness among the armed forces.
Major General Pakpour, in turn, expressed gratitude for the judiciary’s support, stressing that safeguarding the well-being and protection of IRGC personnel remains a top priority.
He reiterated: “The IRGC, thanks to God, is in full readiness, and should the Zionist regime repeat its aggression against our country, it will face a regretful and more powerful response than the 12-day war.”
