WANA (Jan 21) – The deputy commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the country’s armed forces remain at the highest level of readiness and morale, stressing that they stand fully prepared to defend the nation and its people.

Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said in an interview that assessments of the armed forces’ capabilities show they are in excellent condition. “Thanks to God, the armed forces are at the peak of operational readiness and work morale,” he said.

Emphasizing that the armed forces remain committed to defending Iran as they have in the past, Vahidi responded to recent threats against the country, particularly remarks made by the U.S. president. He said such threats are nothing new.

“These threats have always existed and are not limited to today or yesterday,” Vahidi said, adding that Iran has faced similar threats for the past 47 years.

In a continuation of his recent threats against Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to wipe the country off the face of the earth during an interview published yesterday.

Referring to what he described as assassination threats from Iranian leaders, the U.S. President stated that while they should not engage in such actions, he had already issued the necessary warnings.

He asserted that if any incident were to occur, the United States would blow up their entire country, emphasizing that the whole nation would be destroyed.
