WANA (Jul 23) – The Public Relations office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued Statement No. 45 on Thursday, directly addressing the citizens of Jordan following strikes against U.S. military facilities located within Jordanian territory.

 

According to the IRGC, its forces destroyed a radar system belonging to an American THAAD missile defense battery during strikes on U.S. bases, frame-worked as a response to repeated U.S. military aggression against Iranian territory.

 

The military branch added that a Patriot air defense system and a C-RAM radar unit were also targeted and destroyed, while fuel storage facilities at the installation were set ablaze. Furthermore, the statement detailed the destruction of a major helicopter equipment depot and a maintenance hangar.

 

Addressing claims that Iranian operations infringe upon regional sovereignty, the IRGC rejected such assertions, stating that it fully respects the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of neighboring governments.

 

Instead, the statement argued that host countries’ sovereignty is violated by the presence of U.S. bases. The IRGC asserted that these facilities operate outside local border controls, host foreign detainees without domestic oversight, enforce military discipline through U.S. military police rather than local forces, and operate under American judicial authority—denying entry even to local defense ministers without U.S. clearance.

 

The IRGC maintained that its actions target lands occupied by the U.S. military rather than host nations. Pointing to an incident on the first day of the conflict in Minab—where it reported that 168 school children were killed in a U.S. attack—the IRGC stated that U.S. operations utilizing bases in Jordan make it a legal, religious, and logical right for Iran to target American forces at their points of origin.

 

The statement concluded with an expression of gratitude to the Jordanian public for their cooperation.
