IRGC Dismantles Terrorist Safe Houses in Southeastern Iran
WANA (Aug 17) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that, as part of ongoing large-scale military drills in southeastern Iran, its forces have destroyed several terrorist safe houses in the north and south of the province.
According to the statement, Quds Base forces, in cooperation with intelligence and security agencies, identified and dismantled two terrorist hideouts. In a series of separate operations, six trained militants planning sabotage and terrorist attacks were killed, while several others were arrested.
During the raids, particularly in Chabahar, security forces seized 25 kilograms of explosives, ready-to-detonate bombs, detonators, remote-control devices, blasting fuses, communication equipment, and other military gear.
Ali Velayatipour, the Deputy Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan and the Governor of Zabol, also explained that security and military forces killed members of the Ansar al-Furqan militant group in an armed clash early Sunday morning (August 17). The group was allegedly planning attacks on sensitive sites as well as military and police bases in the Sistan region.
Ali Velayatipour, the governor of Zabol, stated that the militants, equipped with advanced weapons and using sophisticated methods for sabotage, were identified in the early hours of the morning by the Intelligence Ministry’s security units. Counter-operations were immediately launched.
In another operation in the northern part of the province, an additional safe house was targeted, leading once again to the killing of six armed militants and the detention of several others.
