IRGC Foils Mossad-Linked Network in Northeastern Iran
WANA (Aug 30) – Eight individuals connected to Israel’s Mossad intelligence service have been identified and arrested in Iran’s Khorasan Razavi Province, according to a statement by the Public Relations Office of the Imam Reza IRGC.
The statement announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell affiliated with Mossad, noting that its members were in contact and cooperating with separatist groups.
The arrested individuals had reportedly received specialized training from Mossad operatives through online channels. During the recent unrest, described by Iranians as the “12-Day Sacred Defense,” they attempted to transmit coordinates of vital and sensitive sites as well as information about senior Iranian military figures to Israeli intelligence officers.
According to available evidence, the detainees were planning attacks targeting national and military officials, along with sabotage operations against key facilities in the city of Mashhad. However, Iranian intelligence forces, maintaining full operational awareness, detained them before any such plans could be carried out.
Authorities also confiscated raw materials intended for the construction of launchers, bombs, explosives, and booby traps.
Governor of South Khorasan( a province Northeastern of Iran) also stated that in the past two weeks, the provincial Intelligence Department dealt a severe blow to the terrorist group Ansar al-Furqan and dismantled a 12-member team that intended to carry out sabotage in the province.
