IRGC Forces Turn Back Two Tankers Attempting Unauthorized Transit Through Hormuz
WANA (Apr 19) – Amid the ongoing maritime blockade of Iran, Iranian armed forces forced two oil tankers to retreat this morning after they attempted an “unauthorized transit” through the Strait of Hormuz.
Enforcement of the Naval Blockade
According to reports, the two tankers—flying the flags of Botswana and Angola—were attempting to traverse the strategic waterway. They were warned off by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and forced to change course.
High Alert in Strategic Waters
This follows recent directives from Iranian military commands to restrict passage in response to the continued naval blockade of Iranian ports. Military officials confirmed that the vessels were issued warnings before being compelled to withdraw.
Citing “American bad faith,” the spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced yesterday morning that strict controls have been reinstated.
The spokesperson clarified that the Strait of Hormuz will remain under intense supervision and return to its previous restricted status until the United States ends all interference with the free movement of vessels traveling to and from Iran.
Iranian authorities have reiterated that all transit through the Strait remains under strict oversight, and any vessel attempting to pass without proper authorization or in violation of current restrictions will be met with immediate operational measures.
