WANA (Mar 01) – Following the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement declaring that his martyrdom at the hands of the most wicked terrorists and executioners of humanity is a sign of the righteousness of this great leader and the acceptance of his sincere and selfless service.

 

The IRGC statement reads as follows:

 

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

“Do not think of those who are killed in the way of God as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving sustenance.”

 

We extend our condolences and congratulations on the honorable martyrdom of the godly scholar, the master and standard-bearer of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, the leader of the martyrs-in-waiting, and the rightful deputy of the Awaited Savior, Imam Khamenei (may God be pleased with him), which occurred during the blessed month of Ramadan, to the presence of the Imam of the Age, the Islamic Ummah, the grand religious authorities and scholars, and the great nation of Iran.

 

Almighty God accepted the soul of this great striving spirit and pure descendant of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her), and—like his role model, Imam Ali (peace be upon him)—granted him the blessing of martyrdom in the blessed month of Ramadan.

 

We have lost a great leader and mourn one who was unparalleled in his time in purity of soul, strength of faith, wisdom in governance, courage in confronting the arrogant, and jihad in the path of God.

 

His martyrdom at the hands of the most wretched terrorists and executioners of humanity is a clear sign of the righteousness of this exalted leader and the acceptance of his sincere services.

 

Martyrdom in the path of Islam and great Iran is a sign of victory and proximity to the ultimate goal. With the martyrdom and ascent toward God of Imam Khamenei, however, his path and conduct will not come to a halt; rather, they will continue with power and grandeur.

 

This martyrdom will make our nation even more resolute in continuing the luminous path of our beloved Imam Khamenei.

 

The criminal and terrorist act of the malicious government of the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel) constitutes a blatant violation of religious, moral, legal, and customary norms. Therefore, the avenging hand of the Iranian nation will not release its grip until a severe, decisive, and regret-inducing punishment is inflicted upon the murderers of the Imam of the Ummah.

 

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the great popular Basij will powerfully continue the path of their leader in defense of the priceless legacy of this great Leader, standing firm against domestic and foreign conspiracies and delivering a lesson-teaching punishment to the aggressors against the Islamic homeland.

 

In conclusion, we call upon all segments of society to demonstrate their national unity and cohesion to the world, and to the wicked and terrorist enemies of this nation, through their enthusiastic and heroic presence in the arenas of national defense.
