WANA (Sep 06) – The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said that following the U.S. attack on three Iranian oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, IRGC forces responded by targeting three oil tankers traveling through unauthorized routes in the strait, as well as three U.S.-affiliated vessels in other locations.

Referring to the latest developments in the region, the IRGC Navy commander said the U.S. attack on the Iranian oil tankers took place while the Strait of Hormuz remained closed and caused damage.

He also warned all vessels operating in the Persian Gulf and areas near the Strait of Hormuz to avoid any attempt to pass through routes designated as unauthorized or to engage in suspicious activity.

He stressed that any vessel acting in violation of the warning would be targeted.
