WANA (Apr 17) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that all vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is subject to its authorization.

In a statement published online, the IRGC Navy outlined what it described as a “new order” governing the strategic waterway.

According to the statement, non-military vessels are required to pass only through routes designated by Iran, while the transit of military vessels remains prohibited.

It also emphasized that all movements must be approved by the IRGC Navy.

The statement added that these measures are being implemented within the framework of a “period of reduced hostilities” following the enforcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon.
