WANA (Jul 12) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a new round of military operations against what it described as U.S. targets in the region, claiming that a second non-compliant vessel in the Strait of Hormuz had been struck and that several American military and logistical facilities in Qatar and Oman were targeted.

 

In its first statement, the IRGC said the second vessel in the Strait of Hormuz was hit and brought to a halt in response to what it called continued U.S. attacks. It also claimed that the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was targeted with ballistic missiles during the second phase of its retaliatory operation, saying the base’s command-and-control center and aircraft maintenance facilities were damaged.

 

In a separate statement, the IRGC announced the third phase of its operation, claiming that its Aerospace Force launched a heavy surprise strike against logistical support facilities for U.S. naval forces and refueling platforms used by U.S. aircraft carriers at the Port of Duqm in Oman.
