IRGC: Prince Hassan Air Base Targeted
WANA (Jul 13) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had targeted fuel depots and ammunition storage facilities at Jordan’s Prince Hassan Air Base in response to what it described as U.S. attacks on Iranian coastal military bases.
In a statement, the IRGC said the strike marked the first phase of Iran’s response to the recent U.S. attacks and that several large missile storage sites and fuel depots at the air base were set ablaze in missile and drone strikes.
According to the statement, the operation followed U.S. attacks on Iranian coastal military positions after the IRGC Navy intercepted two vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC also said the two vessels had turned off their tracking systems and were navigating through illegal routes, endangering maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement concluded by saying that Iran’s retaliatory operations are continuing and that further details will be announced in subsequent statements.
