IRGC Reports Major Interceptions as Fighter Jet and Drones Downed Over Iran
WANA (Apr 04) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its air defense forces downed several hostile aerial targets, describing the developments as a major setback for U.S. and Israeli air operations.
In a statement, the IRGC said its air defenders “created a difficult day” for opposing air forces by downing one fighter jet and five other aerial vehicles during ongoing engagements in Iranian airspace.
According to the statement, IRGC Aerospace Defense units intercepted and destroyed:
- Two cruise missiles over Khomein and Zanjan
- Two MQ-9 attack drones over Isfahan
- One Hermes drone over Bushehr
The IRGC also reported the downing of an advanced enemy fighter jet over central Iran using its integrated air defense systems.
It added that continued monitoring and defensive operations would further reduce the safety of hostile aircraft operating in Iranian airspace.
