WANA (Sep 15) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said a MQ-1 drone belonging to an “adversary” was intercepted and shot down over the western part of the Strait of Hormuz early Tuesday.

 

According to the IRGC’s public relations office, the drone was detected, intercepted and destroyed by a new air defense system operated by the IRGC Aerospace Force under the control of Iran’s integrated air defense network.

 

The IRGC did not provide further details on the exact time of the operation, the location where the drone went down, or its operator.
