IRGC Spokesperson: Over 200 U.S. and Israeli Positions Struck
WANA (Mar 08) – Following the ongoing military conflict described as the “imposed war by the U.S. and the Zionist regime,” IRGC Spokesperson Brigadier General Ali-Mohammad Naeini addressed the nation in a televised program, detailing the first week of hostilities and the execution of “Operation True Promise 4.”
General Naeini stated that seven days have passed since the beginning of a “full-scale war and military aggression” in the contemporary history of West Asia. He reported that on Saturday, February 28, 2026, U.S. and Israeli forces launched a joint operation involving over 50,000 troops, two aircraft carriers, 200 advanced fighters, strategic bombers, and nuclear submarines, with the explicitly stated goal of regime change in the Islamic Republic.
The “Failed” Invasion: 50,000 Troops and Two Aircraft Carriers
The IRGC spokesperson outlined three major errors in the enemy’s planning:
- The Assassination Fallacy: The belief that the system would collapse within 48 hours following the assassination of the Supreme Leader.
- Duration: The assumption that the war would conclude within three days.
- International Coalitions: The expectation that a regional and international alliance would form against Iran.
Naeini emphasized that all three calculations met with “historic and scandalous failure,” proving the enemy lacks a proper understanding of Iran’s political, military, and social structures. He noted that while the initial shock was serious, it was contained quickly, with Iranian missile strikes beginning just two hours after the invasion started.
Failure of Leadership’s Assassination and Social Collapse Plans
According to Naeini, the U.S. doctrine assumed the Islamic Republic was a “person-centered” system. He stated that despite the assassination of the country’s high-ranking leader, the “Temporary Leadership Council” was immediately formed, power was restored, and offensive orders were issued.
Furthermore, he stated the enemy failed to trigger a social collapse. Rather than evacuating cities due to “terror tactics,” the spokesperson asserted that citizens took to the streets in shows of national unity, with turnouts in some cities reportedly exceeding average Revolution Day (Feb 11) rallies.
Regional Escalation and “Operation True Promise 4”
General Naeini highlighted the scale of the current military response, titled Operation True Promise 4, noting that its 26th wave was executed just hours ago.
Geographic Scope: The battlefield spans 2.5 million square kilometers, from the northern Indian Ocean to “the occupied territories”.
Strike Volume: Approximately 600 missile operations (ballistic and cruise) and 2,600 drone operations were carried out in the first week.
Firepower: The volume of fire in the first three days equaled the entire 12-day war previously experienced.
Targets: Over 200 points, including U.S. bases and interests, have been hit.
“Blinding the Desert Eye”: $2.3 Billion in U.S. Radars Destroyed
The spokesperson claimed a significant military achievement: “blinding the enemy’s strategic eyes.” He reported the destruction of seven advanced radar systems forming the region’s security umbrella, including:
- The FPS Strategic Radar (“Eye of the Desert”) at Al-Udeid base, valued at $1 billion.
- The THAAD TPY Radar at Muwaffaq base, valued at $500 million.
- An advanced TPY Radar at the Al-Rus complex, valued at $800 million.
Additionally, he stated that 80 advanced enemy drones were downed by Iran’s integrated defense system.
Impact on Global Economy and Maritime Traffic
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Naeini clarified that Iran is applying “innocent passage” rules strictly. He stated that vessels from the U.S., the Israeli regime, and their direct allies are prohibited from passing. Currently, approximately 300 tankers and giant container ships are reportedly stalled on both sides of the strait.
The conflict has resulted in the cancellation of 23,000 international flights and significant volatility in global oil, gas, and stock markets.
Readiness for Long-Term Warfare
In response to questions about Iran’s endurance, Naeini asserted that the armed forces are prepared for at least six months of high-intensity, full-scale warfare at the current rhythm.
“The missiles used so far are mainly from the first and second generations (produced between 2012–2014),” Naeini said, adding that the vast stockpiles produced in the last decade remain untouched. He emphasized that the military is executing the “final command” of the late Supreme Leader to respond on a regional war scale.
Message to Regional Neighbors
Naeini concluded with a message to neighboring countries, echoing the President’s stance that their sovereignty is respected. He stated that countries not providing their territory or facilities to the “U.S. terrorist army” are not targets. However, he warned that U.S. bases anywhere in the region are considered “legitimate targets” and will continue to face missile strikes until the “aggressors are fully punished.”
