WANA (Jul 23) – The Public Relations office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued Statement No. 44 today, addressing the citizens of Kuwait following strikes against U.S. military installations hosted on Kuwaiti territory.

 

In the statement, the IRGC outlined recent military actions targeting U.S. assets at Ali Al Salem Air Base and the Udairi (Camp Buehring) garrison:

 

“Honorable and noble people of Kuwait; your brothers in the IRGC, in retaliatory action against the U.S. military and its interventions in the Strait of Hormuz, carried out drone strikes destroying a major military equipment depot, a Patriot air defense system, and an MQ-9 drone hangar at the Ali Al Salem Air Base.”

 

The statement further detailed additional targets hit in response to ongoing regional escalation:

 

“Forces also targeted U.S. troop quarters and two helicopter hangars at the Udairi garrison, inflicting casualties among adversary personnel and causing heavy damage to several helicopters and drones. Furthermore, in response to U.S. strikes on communication towers inside Iran, a military communication tower was targeted.”

 

Addressing accusations regarding the violation of neighboring nations’ sovereignty, the IRGC stated:

 

“It is sometimes claimed that Iran’s strikes violate the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of regional nations. This assessment is incorrect. We fully respect the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of your government.”

 

The IRGC questioned the legal status of U.S. bases in host countries, asserting that these installations operate outside local sovereign control, border enforcement, and judicial jurisdiction:

 

“Therefore, it is the United States that has violated your territorial integrity and sovereignty, not us. We are targeting areas occupied by the U.S. military… Yesterday, the grieving people of Minab buried the remaining remains of school children recovered from the rubble—168 students who were martyred on the first day of this conflict in U.S. strikes.”

 

The statement concluded by emphasizing Iran’s position that targeting military assets used in attacks against its territory remains a legitimate measure of defense.
