WANA (Jul 18) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Public Relations Office, in its Statement No. 26, announced that two oil tankers exploded and caught fire after entering a mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz.

 

In the statement, the IRGC addressed the Iranian people, saying that their public presence and support have strengthened the country’s military forces and contributed to their operational successes.

 

According to the statement, the two tankers entered the mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz after being misled by U.S. intelligence agencies. The vessels subsequently exploded and were engulfed in a large fire.

 

The IRGC also stated that its Navy considers the Strait of Hormuz completely closed and highly unsafe due to what it described as the actions of the U.S. military. It said that no exports of oil, gas, or chemical fertilizers would be allowed through the waterway until what it called U.S. aggression comes to an end.

 

The statement concluded with a warning to all vessels, urging them not to enter the mined route in order to protect both their crews and their assets.
