WANA (Jul 16) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in its Statement No. 16 that, during the eighth wave of Operation Nasr 2, U.S. fighter jet maintenance hangars and a newly established U.S. command and control center in West Asia, located at Jordan’s Azraq Air Base, were struck by Kheibar Shekan ballistic missiles.

 

According to the statement issued by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office, the operation was carried out in response to what it described as a “blatant U.S. act of aggression” against Iran. The statement claimed that U.S. forces had launched attacks on multiple locations across Iran the previous night using air bases in Jordan, including the grounds of a children’s cancer hospital, forcing the evacuation of 121 pediatric cancer patients.

 

The IRGC further alleged that this was not the first time the United States had used bases in Jordan to conduct attacks against Iran. The statement also claimed that a previous U.S. strike on an elementary school in Minab had killed 168 children.

 

According to the statement, IRGC Aerospace Force units launched the missile operation in two waves under the code name “Ya Zaynab al-Kubra (PBUH),” targeting and destroying the U.S. fighter jet maintenance hangars and the newly established U.S. command and control center at the Azraq Air Base in Jordan with Kheibar Shekan ballistic missiles.

 

In the final section of the statement, the IRGC addressed the people of Jordan, urging them not to allow their country’s territory to be used for attacks against Iran. It also called on Jordanians to oppose U.S. interests and work toward ending the presence of American forces in their country.
