WANA (Aug 14) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, for the first time, displayed images and details of the wreckage and hunted equipment of advanced American and Israeli drones and fighter jets in one of its underground air defense bases.

 

171 Aggressive Aircraft Targeted; 10 Manned Fighter Jets Shot Down

Explaining the exact statistics of the destruction of enemy equipment, a senior anonymous air defense commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force stated:

 

“10 manned aircraft were hit in this third imposed war, and a large number of drones and cruise missiles were hit. Their missions in the drone sector and the destruction of our tactical and combat targets by the enemy were cancelled by the destruction of these drones. 171 aircraft were hit.”

Defeat of the 4 Main Methods of Enemy Aircraft Countering Air Defense

Referring to the capability and complexity of the aggressors’ equipment, this senior IRGC air defense commander noted: “Advanced enemy aircraft and drones usually have 4 main methods to counter air defense systems and evade missiles (including the use of electronic warfare, heavy evasive maneuvers, the use of early warning systems, and launching flares). However, our indigenous systems have successfully bypassed all these defensive methods, completely neutralizing and hunting them.”

 

In this exhibition, images of the remnants and wreckage of an advanced F-15 fighter jet belonging to the aggressor forces (shot down on April 3rd, along with strategic MQ-9 drones (with serial number 261), Hermes 450, Hermes 900, and Starlink satellite internet systems, were displayed.

The IRGC air defense commander added regarding how this modern fighter jet was targeted: “This fighter jet was targeted using modern air defense systems and missiles, combined with an innovative Iranian tactic. The intensity and speed of the operation were such that the enemy pilot realized the danger only a few seconds before the missile impact, had no opportunity to destroy [equipment] or employ any countermeasures, and was only able to eject.”

Increased System Production Rate and Upgrade of Defense Capability

Regarding the status of production capacity and readiness of systems after the clashes, this military official clarified:

 

  • More than 85% of the production infrastructure for air defense systems in self-sufficiency jihad complexes has been completely preserved, and no disruption has occurred in the manufacturing process.

 

  • The production and delivery rate of modern defense systems and missile equipment has dramatically increased compared to the past.

 

  • Modern systems are designed in such a way that they have the capability to detect and engage targets without the enemy having the ability to identify their location, track, or target them.
