WANA (Sep 01) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that the recent US strikes on southern areas of Iran would not lead to a retreat, but would instead strengthen the determination of Iranian forces to confront foreign military presence in the region.

 

In a statement, the IRGC Public Relations Department said that the continued presence of the Iranian people on the scene, along with the “resistance and strength of Iran’s combat forces in the Strait of Hormuz,” had created pressure and uncertainty among US officials.

 

The statement said that hours earlier, the US military had carried out what the IRGC described as “blind and desperate attacks” against several locations along Iran’s southern coastline, including some civilian areas.

 

The IRGC emphasized that the strikes had “tightened the lock on the Strait of Hormuz” and reinforced the determination of Iranian forces to confront foreign forces operating in the strategic waterway.

 

The IRGC also announced that Iranian operations in response to the attacks had begun, adding that further details and the results of the actions would be made public at an appropriate time.
