Islamic Jihad Leader: “We Remain Present on the Scene”
WANA (Nov 07) – The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, said the group remains active on the scene, expressing gratitude to those who have supported the Palestinian cause. His remarks came during the 34th Arab National Conference held in Beirut.
“We are still present on the scene. We thank everyone who stood with us from Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Egypt, and Qatar,” al-Nakhalah stated.
He said Gaza had been facing “an international coalition led by the United States,” and highlighted that all resistance factions stood united both militarily and politically during the recent confrontations.
“If it were not for this unity, we would not have been able to continue our resistance even for a month,” he added.
Al-Nakhalah also warned of the situation in the occupied West Bank, describing it as “a real battle that threatens the Palestinian presence there.” He said the developments in Gaza have surpassed Israel’s ability to control the situation.
Commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed plan regarding the Israeli-Palestinian issue, al-Nakhalah said the plan “created numerous obstacles and conditions that make it impossible to implement.” He noted that Israel did not reject the plan because it seeks a way out of what he described as a crisis on the ground.
In closing, al-Nakhalah reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to resistance: “We remain on the field and emphasize the protection of the resistance. We extend our thanks to all who supported us.”
