Israel Arrests Iron Dome Soldier Over Iran Espionage Charges
WANA (Mar 20) – Hebrew-language media reported that a reserve soldier serving in Israel’s Iron Dome has been arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran.
According to the reports, the suspect allegedly used his position to gain access to sensitive security information and transferred the data in exchange for money.
On Friday, Hebrew media described the case as highly sensitive, involving a reservist linked to the Iron Dome system who is suspected of passing critical security information to parties associated with Iran.
According to reports, citing security sources, reported that Israeli police arrested a man identified as “Zar Cohen,” a reserve soldier who had served in the air defense system. He is accused of maintaining contact with Iranian-linked parties over several consecutive months.
Israeli police stated that the suspect exploited his sensitive role to access classified data and leaked it to Iranian contacts. Investigations indicate that Cohen received financial compensation in return, an issue that has raised concern and confusion within Israel’s military and security establishments.
