WANA (Jun 29) – The official Persian-language account of the Israeli regime on X has explicitly threatened Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, with assassination.

This account posted a photo of Iran’s foreign minister attending yesterday’s funeral ceremony for Iran’s “Martyrs of Power” in Tehran, with the caption: “Israel’s patience with terrorists who threaten us has run out.”

According to some media reports, during the recent 12-day war, the Israeli regime had also planned to assassinate the foreign minister in Tehran—a plot that Iranian security forces reportedly foiled.

A few days ago, certain Iranian media outlets published details of this assassination plot. They cited an adviser to the foreign minister as saying: “Ever since it was announced that the foreign minister would travel to Geneva for negotiations with the European troika, I received many calls warning that the Zionist regime might target him. Yes, such a threat existed and still exists. But Seyyed Abbas Araqchi sees himself less as the head of the diplomatic corps and more as a soldier of the homeland. Like his hero Haj Qasem Soleimani, he seeks martyrdom. If it weren’t for the security measures of our country’s anonymous soldiers, Israel’s major plot against him might have been carried out in Tehran just a few days ago—but thanks to God, it was foiled. Let us pray for him and for all our country’s diplomats to succeed in defending the rights of Islamic Iran in this inhumane world.”

Earlier, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, posted a message on his personal X account saying: Any threat or insult will only reveal Iran’s true power.

Referring sarcastically to the Israeli regime’s appeal to the United States for help in attacking Iran, he added: The great and powerful Iranian nation, which showed the world that Israel had no choice but to run to its “father” to escape annihilation by our missiles, will not tolerate threats or insults.

He warned Israeli and American officials: If delusion leads to bigger mistakes, Iran will undoubtedly reveal its true capabilities—power that will end any illusion about Iran’s strength once and for all.

After attending the funeral ceremony for the “Martyrs of Power,” Araqchi also wrote on Instagram: Though their loss is bitter and searing, martyrs’ memory and path live on in vigilant hearts, and generations of courageous, aware, and faithful Iranians will continue their way.

He added: Facilities and structures, though important and valuable, can be rebuilt over time—often returning with greater grandeur and strength even if it takes years. But a nation’s pride is more precious than anything.

The foreign minister continued: Today, Iranians have heroically resisted two regimes armed with nuclear weapons, safeguarding their dignity and honor—and now they look to the future prouder, more honorable, and more steadfast than ever.

Araqchi also wrote: In Iran’s glorious several-thousand-year history, these 12 days will shine like a jewel on the crown of our steadfastness.

He concluded: History will record that Iranians shed blood but did not surrender land; they gave their beloved children but did not give up their honor; they stood under the rain of multi-ton bombs and did not submit.

Araqchi added: Iran—my homeland and my own flesh—knows nothing of the word “surrender.” And this year, in Muharram, the cry of “Hayhat minna al-dhilla” (“Far from us is humiliation”) resonates louder than ever.
