Israel Reports Growing Israeli Collaboration with Iran
WANA (Dec 27) – Israeli daily Israel Hayom has reported that a significant number of Israelis have been collaborating with Iran.
Yoav Limor, an analyst for the Hebrew newspaper, wrote that the Shin Bet and police are struggling to understand what has led so many Israelis to betray their country and cooperate with Iran.
Initially, it was assumed that those involved came from society’s margins—primarily new immigrants without family ties in Israel who had not served in the army and therefore had weaker connections to the state.

However, as cases increased, it became clear that this was not the case. Iran reportedly recruited anyone it could—young and old, poor and wealthy, marginal and central, religious and secular, old-timers and newcomers, from both eastern and western communities—offering payment in exchange for cooperation. Dozens of Israelis were involved.
Limor emphasized that the current pattern of Iranian recruitment of Israelis differs significantly from the past and is deeply concerning—not only because of the high number of arrests but also because it indicates a fundamental security flaw.
