WANA (Jun 29) – In an official letter to the President of the United Nations Security Council, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, declared that the Israeli regime has deliberately targeted Iranian medical personnel and health facilities in blatant violation of international law.

“The Israeli regime has systematically and intentionally struck medical workers and healthcare infrastructure in Iran,” Iravani stated, underscoring that all relevant international conventions protecting such personnel have been disregarded.

The letter, issued on behalf of the Iranian government, accompanies an initial report from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The report details the casualties and damage sustained by Iran’s healthcare sector during the first ten days of Israeli aggression, from June 13 to June 22, 2025.

“These brutal and inhumane military attacks launched by the Israeli regime on June 13 have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a significant number of Iranian civilians and the widespread destruction of non-military infrastructure,” Iravani wrote.

“The regime’s actions constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, human rights law, and all established conventions that guarantee the protection of medical personnel during armed conflict.”

The ambassador emphasized that the current report is intended to document the human toll and material destruction caused by the Israeli regime’s continuing assault, with special focus on the legal protections that have been grossly violated. Due to the ongoing nature of the attacks—including continued airstrikes on civilian and healthcare sites—the report remains preliminary and partial.

“A comprehensive and detailed account will be submitted in due course, following the verification and completion of additional data,” the letter added.
