WANA (Jun 08) – The Israeli military, directed by its military intelligence service, launched airstrikes early this morning targeting locations in Tehran and western Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) subsequently confirmed that several targets on Iranian soil had been hit.

 

According to the IRGC statement, Israeli forces utilized air-launched ballistic missiles to conduct the strikes against the designated sites.

 

Explosions Heard in Western Tehran

At least two loud explosions were reported in various parts of western Tehran at approximately 4:43 AM and 4:45 AM local time, prompting unverified claims that Mehrabad International Airport had been targeted.

 

However, a spokesperson for the Tehran Fire Department announced that while emergency personnel have been placed on high alert, no municipal or civilian residential areas within the city were struck.

 

Red Crescent Activates Emergency Operations

The Iranian Red Crescent Society issued an official directive this morning, confirming that all rapid-response units, logistical assets, relief teams, medical infrastructure, and organization-affiliated pharmacies nationwide are fully operational and on maximum alert.

 

The Red Crescent’s Emergency Operations Center has been fully activated to monitor and coordinate nationwide responses. The agency urged citizens to follow strict safety protocols, including:

  • Preparing emergency crisis kits containing vital documents, a 72-hour supply of dry rations, bottled water, and a battery-powered pocket radio.
  • Maintaining a minimum distance of 100 meters from any impact sites.
  • Refraining from spreading unverified information or fabricated news reports.

 

Air Attack Hits Petrochemical Plant in Khuzestan

In southwestern Iran, Israeli projectiles struck industrial infrastructure in Khuzestan province. The Deputy Governor for Security Affairs in Khuzestan confirmed that the Karoon Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr was hit in an aerial assault, sustaining partial damage to its facilities.
