WANA (Jul 30) – An Israeli ambulance driver has been arrested on suspicion of spying and carrying out intelligence-gathering missions for Iran, according to Israeli authorities.

 

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the 34-year-old suspect allegedly used his access to hospitals to collect information and photograph sensitive locations.

 

Israeli police and the Shin Bet security agency announced that Amir Hisham Mohammad Titi, a resident of the Arab town of Bi’ina, has been formally charged with espionage and taken into custody.

 

According to Israeli investigators, the ambulance driver allegedly exploited his professional access to document and transmit information and photographs showing hospitals’ emergency preparedness. He is also accused of photographing a senior Israeli official during a visit to a medical center in northern Israel.

 

The Shin Bet and Israeli police further alleged that he carried out several additional assignments, including:

 

Photographing Hostages Square in Tel Aviv while holding a sign displaying images of the hostages..

Documenting an anti-government protest in central Haifa.

Photographing a neighborhood in central Israel where a senior Israeli security official resides.

 

Israeli authorities also alleged that the suspect received tens of thousands of shekels for these activities, with the payments reportedly transferred through relatives’ bank accounts and a digital wallet. The allegations have not been independently verified.
