WANA (Jul 02) – Israeli authorities have announced the arrest of a Tajik national on charges of collaborating with Iranian intelligence.

 

Officials claim the suspect provided sensitive information about strategic locations and missile impact sites during the recent conflict.

 

According to reports from the Israeli Ministry of Defense, police, and the domestic security agency (Shin Bet), prosecutors are preparing an indictment against the suspect, identified as Behruz Subrigon. Subrigon, a citizen of Tajikistan who also holds a Russian passport, was detained last month on suspicion of working with Iran.

 

Allegations of Espionage and Surveillance

Israeli security agencies allege that Subrigon had been in contact with Iranian intelligence operatives since January of this year.

 

Authorities claim that during the recent escalation, he transmitted data to Iran, including the precise coordinates of Iranian missile impact sites and various sensitive locations within Israel.

 

The investigation further alleges that Subrigon conducted surveillance and photographed high-profile targets, including:

 

  • The Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv
  • The Port of Haifa
  • A sensitive security facility in northern Israel

 

In addition to espionage, Israeli officials accuse the suspect of attempting to recruit other individuals to cooperate with Iranian-affiliated operatives.

 

Legal Proceedings and Broader Context

Alongside the preliminary statement, the prosecution has requested that the Tel Aviv District Court remand the suspect in custody until the conclusion of the legal proceedings.

 

These allegations come amid a series of recent announcements by Israeli authorities claiming to have uncovered and dismantled multiple espionage networks operating on behalf of Iran over the past few months.
