WANA (Jun 24) – Moments ago, a loud explosion was heard near the cities of Babolsar and Babol in northern Iran. Local sources have reported the dispatch of emergency vehicles and ambulances to the scene, though no official details have yet been released regarding the nature of the incident or potential casualties.

The explosion comes just hours after the two sides had announced a ceasefire agreement. However, multiple sources have described the strike as a clear violation of that truce, pointing to an Israeli airstrike on Iranian territory.

Sources close to the Israeli military have described the operation as a “limited and symbolic response to rocket fire,” but field reports and the intensity of the blasts have raised serious doubts about the symbolic nature of the strike.

Meanwhile, the U.S. President criticized Israel’s actions, stating: “I didn’t like that Israel launched a strike immediately after agreeing to a ceasefire. These folks need to calm down.”

He also expressed frustration over the cycle of retaliation, saying that “things have gotten really irrational,” and voiced dissatisfaction with the escalating tit-for-tat responses.

In a separate development, Iranian security officials had earlier issued a formal warning, stating that any act of aggression would be met with a swift, decisive, and regrettable response.

Signs now indicate that the fragile ceasefire has effectively collapsed, ushering in a new and more volatile phase of the conflict.
