It’s Not Acceptable That Everyone Uses the Strait of Hormuz Except Iran
WANA (Oct 11) – The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has stressed that the Islamic Republic will not allow other countries to use the Strait of Hormuz for oil and gas shipments while Iran itself is denied that right.
In a televised interview, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri highlighted the strategic importance of the waterway, saying: “Is it possible that the world uses the Strait of Hormuz, but we cannot? It is illogical that oil and gas tankers pass by our coasts while Iran’s own oil cannot pass through.”
He reaffirmed the readiness of Iranian forces to safeguard national interests, adding: “The Iranian people should know that their soldiers in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman — both in the Army and the IRGC Navy — stand firmly against anyone who seeks to undermine our national interests. We will defend the dignity of Iran until our last breath.”

Any Enemy Misstep in the Strait of Hormuz Will Face a Decisive Response
WANA (Oct 08) – Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has warned that any miscalculation by adversaries in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or Iran’s islands will face a “decisive and crushing response.” In a message marking the “Day of the IRGC Navy,” General Pakpour honored […]
Rear Admiral Tangsiri also pointed to Iran’s growing defense capabilities: “Today, we are proud to be among the few nations capable of producing and exporting missiles, drones, and naval vessels. Our enemies know we are not pursuing nuclear weapons — we have no belief in that path — but they oppose our scientific progress because they want Iran to remain under their dominance.”
Referring to the recent 12-day conflict, he said Iranian forces demonstrated only a fraction of their true capabilities: “We were victorious in that 12-day war because we neither started the conflict nor asked for it to end. The sacrifices of our soldiers have not yet been fully told.”
Commenting on renewed claims regarding Iran’s sovereignty over the three Persian Gulf islands, Tangsiri stated: “Foreign powers are behind these claims. They ignite such disputes to justify their presence in the region. The islands are an inseparable part of Iranian territory. We do not seek expansion, but we will not allow any aggression against our soil.”
He concluded by emphasizing the significance of the Strait of Hormuz and the dangers of foreign military presence: “The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most vital energy arteries. We have always safeguarded it, but it is unreasonable for others to benefit from it while Iran is excluded. The presence of foreign forces in the Persian Gulf disrupts regional security. The entry of nuclear-powered vessels into closed seas is prohibited; an accident in this 250,000-square-kilometer area could make desalinated water in regional states undrinkable for over a decade.”
