WANA (Dec 17) – Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said Tehran and Moscow are moving toward a comprehensive strategic partnership that will secure the long-term interests of both countries and their nations.

In a post on X on the second day of Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi’s visit to Moscow, Jalali wrote that the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty: Charting the Future Roadmap” reflects a new phase in Iran-Russia relations.

He noted that while ties between the two countries have deep historical roots, the current stage is distinguished by a shift beyond relations based solely on neighborhood or tactical cooperation.

Jalali said Araghchi’s visit to Moscow should be viewed in this context, emphasizing that Iran and Russia are moving toward a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at ensuring long-term mutual benefits.

He added that in today’s rapidly changing world, understanding this partnership goes beyond political considerations, describing it as a key factor for stability and development in the region.
