WANA (Sep 09) – Iran’s Foreign Minister took part in a joint meeting with Egypt’s Foreign Minister and the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, who arrived in Cairo on Tuesday morning, September 9, for meetings with Egyptian officials, attended a joint session shortly ago with Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, and Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA.

The talks had originally been scheduled for this morning but were postponed for about five hours due to a delay in Grossi’s flight to Cairo.

Simultaneously with the minister’s arrival in Cairo, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, wrote on his account on the social platform X: “The Foreign Minister has arrived in Cairo for an official visit to Egypt. Dr. Araghchi is scheduled to meet with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty and with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He will also hold discussions with the Director General of the IAEA on Iran–Agency interactions in light of the new circumstances resulting from the unlawful attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime, within the framework of the parliamentary law dated June 24, 2025.”
