WANA (Feb 02) – Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the country’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, held a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, to discuss the latest bilateral developments and regional issues.

 

According to an official statement by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, Safadi emphasized the importance of resolving Iran’s nuclear file through diplomacy and dialogue, and reaffirmed Amman’s support for international efforts aimed at de-escalation and restoring stability in the region.

 

Highlighting Jordan’s “firm and principled position against violations of state sovereignty,” the foreign minister stated that Jordan will not allow its territory to become a platform for regional conflicts or be used as a launch point for any military action against Iran. He also stressed that Jordan would respond decisively to any violation of its airspace that threatens the country’s security or the safety of its citizens.

 

During the call, Iran’s foreign minister expressed appreciation for Jordan’s stance, describing the country’s efforts to preserve regional security and stability as constructive and positive.

 

The statement added that both sides agreed to maintain diplomatic contacts and consultations on regional developments, underscoring the need to strengthen dialogue and political engagement to prevent further escalation and the spread of tensions across the region.
