WANA (Jun 07) – Following judicial follow-up and intelligence cooperation, the individuals accused of involvement in the assassination of Judge Ehsan Bagheri have been arrested, according to Iran’s Judiciary spokesperson.

 

Asghar Jahangir, the spokesperson for Iran’s Judiciary, announced that the two accused were located and apprehended moments ago at their hideout near Shiraz. Both individuals are residents of Fars Province, and their identities have been confirmed.

 

Jahangir added that during the arrest, the accused resisted security forces and was shot and wounded during the confrontation. He also noted that one of the individuals has a prior criminal record.

 

Iranian Judge Ehsan Bagheri, head of Branch 102 of the Criminal Court 2 of Shiraz, was attacked and assassinated on May 27, 2025, as he was leaving his home to go to work by unidentified individuals.

 

Judge Ehsan Bagheri, 38 years old, was born in Mamasani County. He held a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminology, was married, and had one child.

 

Ehsan Bagheri had more than 12 years of judicial experience. From March 10, 2012, to March 17, 2013, he served as a judicial trainee. From March 2013 to October 2017, he served as an assistant prosecutor at the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Dana County in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.

 

From November 2017 to May 2024, Judge Bagheri worked as an investigating judge at the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Shiraz, and during this time, he was appointed as the head of Criminal Court Branch 2 of Shiraz.
