Kataib Hezbollah Calls on Fighters Worldwide to Prepare to Support Iran
WANA (Jan 26) – Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq has called on fighters around the world to prepare to support the Islamic Republic of Iran, warning that any war against Iran would not be easy and that enemies would face severe consequences.
In a statement, the secretary-general of Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq urged fighters across the globe to prepare for a large-scale conflict in support of Iran.
Abu Hussein al-Hamidawi said the group is calling on “brotherly fighters in the East and West” and all those who, in his words, believe that dignity belongs to God, His Messenger, and the faithful, and who reject what he described as the dominance of “disbelief and hypocrisy” over people of faith and justice.
He called on them to be ready for a broad war in defence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which he described as a “stronghold of the Islamic nation” that has stood for more than four decades alongside the oppressed and in support of what he called the legitimate causes of the Muslim community, regardless of sect, colour, or race.
Al-Hamidawi claimed that “misguided forces, including Zionists and their supporters,” have united to pressure Iran and even seek its destruction, alleging that they aim to undermine moral and human values.
Stressing that support for Iran by what he termed the “Axis of Resistance” is essential, al-Hamidawi warned that any war against the Islamic Republic would not be easy. He said such a conflict would instead expose enemies to “various forms of grim death,” adding that there would be “no place” for them in the region and that fear would be cast into the hearts of their opponents.
Addressing fighters directly, the Kataib Hezbollah leader called on them to prepare on the ground for what he described as one of two outcomes: martyrdom or victory. He added that if religious authorities were to declare jihad for entering such a war, actions could escalate to the level of so-called martyrdom operations in defence of Muslims and their existence.
Last Tuesday, al-Hamidawi had also warned the United States that a war with Iran would not be “entertainment,” but rather a fire that, if ignited, would not be extinguished without causing humiliation to its adversaries. In that earlier statement, he said the Axis of Resistance would stand alongside Iran against any potential aggression, warning that a war would devastate U.S. interests.
Separately, on Sunday, Iraq’s capital witnessed a public demonstration of solidarity with Iran, as vehicle convoys and gatherings raised Iranian flags and held images of Iran’s Supreme Leader. Participants voiced support for Iran and condemned what they described as threats by the United States and Israel.
