WANA (May 17) – In a demonstration of humanitarian cooperation and by direct order of the Kazakh President, Kazakhstan has dispatched a substantial shipment of humanitarian aid to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

The aid package was officially delivered to Iran on May 16, 2026, by the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development (KazAID), in coordination with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Ministry of Healthcare.

 

The handover ceremony to the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran took place at the Sarakhs railway station.

 

According to reports, the 30-wagon shipment includes canned meat, sugar, premium-grade flour, medical equipment, and pharmaceuticals, all aimed at supporting the Iranian people and assisting in meeting essential social needs.

 

During the ceremony, the Kazakh Ambassador to Iran highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, stating:

 

“Iran is one of Kazakhstan’s most important political, economic, and humanitarian partners in the Middle East and the Islamic world.”

 

The envoy further emphasized that true friends are recognized during difficult times, noting that Kazakhstan has consistently stood by and supported the Iranian people throughout various challenging periods.
