WANA (Jul 16) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has warned that any U.S. military attack targeting Iran’s infrastructure would trigger retaliatory strikes against infrastructure across the region.

 

Brig. Gen. Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, issued the warning in response to recent threats by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding possible strikes on Iran’s infrastructure.

 

According to Zolfaqari, if the United States carries out such threats, “everything that has remained intact in the region due to Iran’s restraint—including all regional infrastructure—will come under the powerful strikes of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

 

In his statement, Zolfaqari accused the United States of continuing what he described as policies of “aggression and destabilization” in the region. He also reiterated that Iran would not, under any circumstances, allow the United States, which he described as an “extraregional power,” to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

He stressed that the Strait of Hormuz remains one of Iran’s “non-negotiable red lines” and warned that any attempt to cross that line would be met with a decisive response.

 

The spokesperson further stated that if U.S. forces target Iran’s infrastructure, Iran’s response would not be “proportionate,” but rather “superior.” He claimed that the retaliatory strikes would be “more severe, more extensive, and more destructive than ever before.”

 

Zolfaqari also asserted that any regional infrastructure still standing because of what he described as Iran’s restraint would become legitimate targets if the alleged U.S. threats were carried out, adding that the strikes would be so extensive that “no trace of them would remain, as if they had never existed.”

 

Concluding his remarks, Zolfaqari said Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any act of aggression and warned that, in his words, “the fire of a nation that has never surrendered will engulf the aggressor,” placing responsibility for any resulting consequences on the party that initiates military action.
