Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters: US Attacks on Iranian Vessels Met With Retaliatory Response
WANA (May 08) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced that the United States had violated the ceasefire by targeting two vessels linked to Iran in the Strait of Hormuz area, while also carrying out air attacks on civilian areas in southern Iran.
He said: “The aggressive, terrorist, and rogue US military violated the ceasefire by targeting an Iranian oil tanker moving from Iran’s coastal waters near Jask toward the Strait of Hormuz, as well as another vessel entering the Strait of Hormuz opposite the UAE port of Fujairah.”
According to the spokesperson, the United States also launched air attacks, “with the cooperation of some regional countries,” against civilian areas along the coasts of Bandar Khamir, Sirik, and Qeshm Island.
He further stated: “The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran immediately responded by attacking US military vessels in the eastern Strait of Hormuz and south of Chabahar Port, inflicting significant damage on them.”
The spokesperson warned that: “The criminal and aggressive United States and its supporting countries must understand that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as in the past, will respond powerfully and without the slightest hesitation to any act of aggression or violation.”
