WANA (Jul 02) – Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that any U.S. attempt to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz would be met with a swift and decisive response from Iran’s armed forces.

 

In a statement, the headquarters said the Strait of Hormuz “is not a playground for the aggressive United States” but falls under the sovereign jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that safeguarding the security and stability of the strategic waterway is a “red line” for Iran’s armed forces.

 

The statement said all oil tankers and commercial vessels must use routes designated by Iran for safe passage through the strait. It warned that any vessel failing to comply with Iran’s designated routes or navigation protocols would face an immediate response from the Iranian armed forces, putting the security of non-compliant vessels at risk.

 

The headquarters also said any U.S. effort to interfere in the security affairs of the Strait of Hormuz or engage in actions disrupting the waterway would be regarded as a threat to Iran’s national sovereignty and would draw a rapid and firm response.

 

It further warned that the continued presence of U.S. manned and unmanned military aircraft over the Strait of Hormuz undermines the security of the waterway and threatens regional stability.

 

The statement concluded that Iran “will spare no effort” to defend its sovereign rights in the Strait of Hormuz and to repel any aggression or violation by the U.S. military and its supporters.
